BET Awards 2025: A Celebration of Black Excellence in Fashion and Culture

The 25th annual BET Awards proved once again why it remains culture’s biggest night, delivering unforgettable moments that celebrated Black artistry, achievement, and most importantly—unapologetic style. From jaw-dropping red carpet arrivals to electrifying performances, this year’s ceremony was a masterclass in elevated Black excellence.

A Night of Icons and Impact

Hosted by the incomparable Kevin Hart, whose comedic genius kept the energy high, the evening honored legends like Jamie Foxx, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, and Kirk Franklin with the prestigious Ultimate Icon Award. Foxx summed it up perfectly: “The Icon Award is the most important because it comes from us.” In a world that often sidelines Black voices, the BET Awards amplified them—loud and proud.

Fashion Bomb Daily Takes the Carpet

Our very own Claire Sulmers, CEO of Fashion Bomb Daily, brought her signature editorial eye to the red carpet, interviewing stars in looks that pushed boundaries. For her own entrance, she collaborated with celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry (fresh off their Met Gala magic) to deliver architectural regality in a nude Emagine gown by BuKola. With its dramatic swirls and sculptural silhouette, the dress was a progressive masterpiece—proving once again that Claire doesn’t just cover fashion; she lives it.

Swanky Jerry didn’t stop there. Alongside dancehall queen Spice, he turned heads in cobalt blue BuKola ensembles that channeled African royalty—think Coming to America meets modern haute couture. If repetition builds reputation, Jerry is cementing his as one of fashion’s most visionary stylists.

Red Carpet Standouts: Who Wore It Best?

Ciara’s Edgy Elegance

Never one to play it safe, Ciara arrived in an all-black Cong Tri ensemble that defied traditional red carpet norms. A leather button-up top, fitted cap, and high-low fringe skirt gave major “boss vibes”—a signature touch from her stylist, Marni Senofonte.

Tisha Campbell’s Leather Legacy

Tisha Campbell proved that style only gets better with time, slaying in a rich maroon leather dress by Anthony Lattimore. Styled by J.Bolin, the look—paired with matching hair—was a masterclass in bold sophistication.

Mario’s Dapper Moment

Representing for the men, Mario was eye candy personified in a green double-breasted satin wrap top by House of Gray, paired with black printed trousers. Diamond necklaces and patent leather loafers added the perfect finishing touches to this modern gentleman’s ensemble.

Why This Night Mattered

Beyond the glitz, the BET Awards served as a powerful reminder of what happens when Black creativity is given the platform it deserves. From fashion to music to activism, this was a night where every moment felt intentional, impactful, and iconic.

As the stars exited the stage, one thing was clear: Black culture isn’t just trending—it’s timeless.
